Job Summary
Provide direct comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department Observation Unit from admission to discharge. Manage a variety of cases including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs while functioning as an on-shift team member. Support the unit with provider coverage between 7 AM and 5 PM daily. Work full-time 36 hours weekly on weekend nights (7pm-7am) plus one weekday nightshift. Requires current Indiana or compact state RN license, BLS, and ACLS certification. New graduate RNs welcome.
Required Qualifications
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license
- BLS for healthcare provider
- ACLS for healthcare provider obtained within 12 months of hire
- Work every weekend
- Weekday nightshift
- Full-time employment (36 Hours Weekly)
- Nights shift (7pm-7am)
- Direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge
- Function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care
- Care for patients with chest pain
- Care for patients with cardiac arrhythmias
- Care for patients post heart catheterizations
- Care for patients post laparoscopic cholecystectomies
- Care for patients with UTIs
- Care for patients with DVTs
- Support from a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week
- Drug-free workplace compliance
