Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care plans, and managing staffing based on patient acuity. Initiate team conferences with health professionals and families to revise care strategies, while conducting rounds to assess patient needs and solicit feedback on service quality. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission safety goals, manage department operations and equipment maintenance, and resolve operational or patient care issues. Coach staff, evaluate performance, and collaborate with the Nurse Manager to implement quality improvement initiatives and policy changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
