Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care activities, and initiating team conferences to revise patient care plans. Make rounds to assess patient needs, solicit feedback on nursing services, and develop strategies to improve customer satisfaction with patients, families, and physicians. Manage staffing requirements based on patient acuity, assign personnel to specific patients, and arrange relief for meals and breaks while evaluating performance and coaching staff. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, facilitate equipment maintenance, and recommend policy changes to enhance department operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
