Job Summary
Lead unit-based clinical services and supervise nursing and ancillary personnel on the Step Down Unit. Direct team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback on quality of care. Manage staffing assignments based on patient acuity, arrange relief for breaks, and evaluate performance while coaching and disciplining staff as needed. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, maintain equipment, and develop systems to improve patient satisfaction and operational efficiency. Maintain staffing costs within budget and minimize overtime use.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
