Job Summary
Lead unit-based leadership and supervise nursing staff on the Step Down Unit, directing activities, initiating care conferences, and assigning personnel based on patient acuity. Ensure cost-effective, safe patient care while managing staffing levels, scheduling relief, and addressing operational issues. Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop policies, improve quality metrics, and resolve patient care concerns. Maintain equipment functionality and ensure department cleanliness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
