Job Summary
RN - Nurse Lead for Step Down Unit provides unit-based leadership in collaboration with the Nurse Manager/Director, supervising nursing and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care and optimal patient safety. Responsible for developing and revising care plans, coordinating conferences with health team members and families, implementing system/process improvements to enhance patient experience, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission patient safety goals. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, RN licensure in the state of practice, and supervisory experience, with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications as required. The role includes overseeing staffing based on patient acuity, coaching staff, participating in performance evaluations, and assisting with hiring decisions. The position emphasizes leadership in patient care delivery, quality improvement activities, and ensuring departmental operations meet safety and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
- ACLS (Required)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (Required)
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills (Required)
