Job Summary
Provides unit-based leadership in a Level III Neonatal/Step-Down care setting, supervising and directing the activities of nursing and ancillary personnel to ensure high-quality patient care, safety, and positive outcomes. Collaborates with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and staff to assess and revise care plans; oversees staffing based on patient acuity; conducts rounds; facilitates performance improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives; ensures compliance with Joint Commission standards and hospital policies; mentors and disciplines personnel as needed; participates in unit operations and budget considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support): Required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS): Required
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills: Required
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification: Preferred
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required
- Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
