Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising and directing nursing and ancillary personnel to ensure cost-effective, professional care and high patient safety. Initiate and coordinate team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback on nursing services. Manage staffing requirements based on patient acuity, assign personnel to activities, and coach or discipline staff as needed. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, participate in Performance Improvement Teams, and recommend policy changes. Maintain department equipment and cleanliness while keeping staffing costs within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
