Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care plans, and managing staffing based on patient acuity. Initiate team conferences to revise care strategies, conduct patient rounds, and solicit feedback to improve quality and satisfaction. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, manage equipment maintenance, and implement systems for staff development and performance evaluation. Resolve operational issues, recommend policy changes, and coach or discipline personnel as needed. Maintain staffing costs within budget while minimizing overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
- E-Verify participation and understanding of Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
