Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care plans, and managing staffing based on patient acuity and workload. Initiate team conferences to revise care strategies, assign staff to patients, and coach or discipline employees as needed. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, maintain equipment functionality, and resolve operational issues to improve patient satisfaction. Participate in performance improvement teams, assess department operations, and recommend policy changes. Manage staffing costs within budget while balancing meal and break relief requests.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
- E-Verify participation and understanding of Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
