Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care plans, and managing staffing based on patient acuity and workload. Initiate team conferences, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback to improve quality of care and customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission safety goals, participate in performance improvement teams, and investigate operational issues. Coach and evaluate staff, manage scheduling adjustments, and maintain department equipment and cleanliness while keeping staffing costs within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
