Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care plans, and managing staffing based on patient acuity and skill mix. Initiate team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback to improve quality and satisfaction. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, participate in Performance Improvement Teams, and investigate operational issues. Maintain equipment safety, manage budgets to minimize overtime, and coach or discipline staff as needed. Direct hiring and termination decisions while instructing new personnel on job duties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
- E-Verify participation and understanding of Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
