Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care activities, and managing staffing based on patient acuity and needs. Coordinate individual and team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient care, and solicit feedback on nursing services. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals and Joint Commission standards while participating in Performance Improvement Teams and quality activities. Investigate and resolve patient care and operational issues, recommend policy changes, and coach or discipline personnel as appropriate. Maintain equipment safety, manage staffing costs within budget, and directly participate in hiring and termination decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
