Job Summary
Provide unit-based leadership by supervising and directing nursing and ancillary personnel using professional discretion. Initiate and coordinate team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback on nursing services. Manage staffing requirements based on patient acuity, assign personnel to activities, and coach or discipline employees as appropriate. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, participate in Performance Improvement Teams, and investigate operational issues to improve care quality. Maintain department cleanliness, facilitate equipment repairs, and keep staffing costs within budget while minimizing overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
- E-Verify participation and acknowledgment of Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
