Job Summary
Unit-based nurse lead in ICU, providing leadership in collaboration with the Nurse Manager/Director. Supervises and directs nursing and ancillary staff, ensures cost-effective, high-quality patient care, maintains patient safety, and fosters a patient- and family-centered care environment. Conducts rounds, coordinates care plans, addresses patient and family feedback, and participates in performance improvement and policy changes. Responsible for staffing management based on patient acuity, scheduling, and performance evaluations; involvement in hiring/termination decisions; ensures compliance with Joint Commission safety goals and AH policies. Requires Bachelor's in nursing (Master's preferred), RN licensure, BLS, HLFS, NIHSS, and supervisory experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS): Required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS): Required
- Five years' technical experience: Preferred
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills: Required
- CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AH policy: Preferred
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification: Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
