Job Summary
Lead unit-based leadership in the ICU by supervising nursing and ancillary personnel, directing care plans, and managing staffing based on patient acuity. Initiate and coordinate team conferences to revise care plans, make rounds to assess patient needs, and solicit feedback on nursing services. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, participate in Performance Improvement Teams, and investigate operational issues. Assign staff to patients, coach personnel, and make decisions on hiring and terminations. Maintain equipment safety, manage staffing costs within budget, and minimize overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
