Job Summary
Lead unit-based leadership in the development and provision of clinical services, supervising and directing nursing and ancillary personnel. Initiate and coordinate conferences with health teams to revise care plans, while making rounds to assess patient needs and solicit feedback on nursing services. Manage staffing requirements based on patient acuity, assign personnel to patients, and coach or discipline staff as needed. Ensure compliance with Patient Safety Goals, participate in Performance Improvement Teams, and recommend policy changes to improve quality and customer satisfaction. Maintain equipment, monitor staffing costs, and document unit activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Five years' technical experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
