Job Summary
Nurse Lead in the ER overseeing unit-based nursing staff during night shifts. Collaborates with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and healthcare staff to supervise activities of nursing and ancillary personnel, ensure cost-effective, high-quality patient care, and maintain patient safety. Leads rounds, coordinates care plans, and contributes to improving patient experience and family-centered care. Responsible for staffing decisions, performance evaluation, disciplining as needed, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards and hospital quality initiatives. Requires RN licensure, a BSN (or equivalent), and several critical-care certifications with demonstrated supervisory experience. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and ongoing quality and safety improvements within the unit.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience (Required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification (Required)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (Required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Required)
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills (Required)
- CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AH policy: Required
