Job Summary
RN NICU provides professional nursing care to newborns in the NICU using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) and coordinates care with the hospital team. Responsibilities include developing and implementing patient care plans, ensuring patient/family education, maintaining confidentiality, supervising ancillary staff, administering medications including parenteral and blood components, documenting care, participating in quality improvement and safety initiatives, and cross-training as needed. Requires CA RN license and AHA BLS; NRP certification as department requires. Scheduling includes weekends and nights with potential call. Cross-training to additional units is expected within 1 year of hire, depending on staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Must have current licensure to practice registered nursing in the State of California
- Current AHA BLS required upon hire
- NRP certification as required by Department
