Job Summary
RN - NICU Lactation Consultant provides advanced lactation assessment and care planning for breastfeeding mother-baby dyads in the Neonatal ICU and other units, develops evidence-based feeding plans, initiates referrals, educates families and staff, documents care in the EMR, mentors LC students, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to support breastfeeding goals while adhering to ILCA Standards and organizational missions.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida
- Minimum one year experience required; inpatient lactation consultations preferred
- Obtain CLC within 6 months of employment and Certified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) within 1 year of employment
- American Heart Association BLS, NRP Healthcare Provider Course Completion required upon hire
- STABLE Course required and maintained
