Job Summary
Effectively uses the nursing process to deliver patient care, assessing learning needs and implementing teaching strategies for diverse patients, families, and disciplines. Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources while serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team. Adapts behavior to specific patient populations, respects privacy, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Performs related duties as required, including exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications. Works in a patient care area where patients enter and directly interacts with patients or specimens containing communicable diseases.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to be self-directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Residence in and willingness to work in Louisiana (excluding Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C.)
