Job Summary
Assess patient learning needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patient, family, and group requirements. Lead the interdisciplinary team by effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary members while managing nursing resources. Utilize the nursing process to evaluate data and promote change for optimal patient outcomes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Adapt communication styles to specific patient populations, maintaining respect for privacy and cultural diversity. Perform duties in a patient care area with exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications. Requires current RN license and BLS certification; no work experience needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to be self-directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Ability to walk or stand to a significant degree
- Ability to push and/or pull arm or leg controls
- Ability to work at a production rate pace
- Ability to work in an area where patients enter
- Ability to work directly with patients
- Ability to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- Ability to work with hazardous medications
- Ability to work with hazardous waste
- Ability to report any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct
- Ability to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws
- Ability to ensure compliance with accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements
- Ability to remain knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws
- Ability to ensure compliance with Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct
