Job Summary
Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans for acute neurologic patients receiving active treatment in a 6:1 ratio unit. Administer medications, perform treatments, and document care consistently while prioritizing patient safety and evidence-based standards. Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to manage the unit, delegate tasks to appropriate team members, and serve as a preceptor or educator for new staff and students. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, attend staff development meetings, and lead performance improvement committees. Provide compassionate care to patients and families while advocating for their rights and demonstrating awareness of legal issues.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- Current State of Alabama RN license
- Valid eNLC multistate RN license
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
- ACLS certification
- NRP certification
- PALS certification
- TNCC certification
