Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect nursing services to patients and families in the Neuroscience PCU. Requires California RN, BLS, NIHSS certification. Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 12/36 schedule. Minimum 1 year clinical experience; new grad requirements for those with less than 12 months experience. Responsibilities include clinical planning/coordination with multidisciplinary team, patient/family education and advocacy, and coordination of transfers/discharge. Demonstrates clinical leadership, critical thinking, and ability to manage complex patient needs; participates in quality improvement and teaching of others. Eligible for relocation incentive; magnet-recognized institution; San Diego-area hospital system.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of nursing school
- California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - REQUIRED
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Various-Employee provides certificate - REQUIRED
- NIHSS is required within 90 days of hire
