Job Summary

Administer medications per hospital policy while assessing, evaluating, and documenting patients' physical and mental status. Establish rapport with patients and families to resolve care requirements, promote independence through education on conditions and self-care, and ensure quality outcomes by adhering to therapeutic standards and state board regulations. Maintain a safe environment, protect patient confidentiality in electronic records, and complete annual competency and regulatory education. Contribute to team efforts measured by Press Ganey/HCAPS, AIDET, and Model of Care standards. Requires ACLS certification, BLS, and a nursing diploma, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. Located at Methodist Hospitals, a Magnet recognized facility with an Outstanding Achievement Award in cancer care.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Registered Nurse
  • College Diploma Nursing
  • Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • BLS
  • ED/ICU Requirement
  • ACLS
  • MED SURG AREAS
  • Thorough knowledge of a variety of medical equipment
  • Ability to administer medications per policy and procedure
  • Ability to follow the National Patient Safety Goals
  • Ability to interpret lab and diagnostic results as it relates to patients status
  • Ability to communicate with all disciplines using SBAR
  • Ability to multi-task
