Job Summary
Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patient, family, and group requirements. Effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while managing nursing resources as a leader on the interdisciplinary team. Use the nursing process to deliver patient care, evaluate data to promote change, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Adapt communication styles to specific patient populations and maintain involvement in unit and department strategic goals. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and proficiency in computer software. Full-time night shift at Ochsner Health Jefferson Highway.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds constantly
- Residence in an eligible location (not in Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, Washington D.C.)
