Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides individualized nursing care to residents using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation). Coordinates care with residents, families, and cross-disciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care across preventative, maintenance, diagnostic, and treatment phases. May serve as charge nurse and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel, ensuring safe, reliable administration of resident care. Practices within the Nurse Practice Act and standards of nursing ethics, with competency across the life span. Requires active RN licensure and a nursing education background; Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred. The role emphasizes care coordination, resident education, collaboration, and adherence to professional standards in a hospital/long-term care setting.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing
- Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an RN (or LPN) at another facility
- Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state, or states, of practice. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside. Certification may be required depending on specialty or service area.
