Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers individualized nursing care to residents using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) and collaborates with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff to plan, implement, and evaluate care. May serve as charge nurse and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel within job descriptions and competence levels. Practices within the Nurse Practice Act and professional standards; supports care across preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. Includes coordination of care, resident assessment, resident education, and various nursing interventions, with emphasis on competency, ethics, and continuous improvement in a hospital or long-term care setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA)
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs and/or multistate licensure if in an NLC state
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications
- Drug screen and pre-employment background screening as a condition of employment
