Job Summary
RN Navigator supporting Preoperative Anesthesia Assessment Clinic; responsible for pre-surgical history and physical assessments, collaboration with physicians, patient and family education on the surgical procedure, pre-operative requirements (including home medications and preparation), expectations of the hospital stay, and follow-up care at home. Works under the direction of the Director, Assistant Director, Physicians and other staff to develop the department's mission, vision, values, goals, policies, and procedures; ensures comprehensive pre-surgical assessments are communicated to the surgeon and consulting physicians; provides patient/family education about procedures and post-operative planning.
Required Qualifications
- Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurses state of residence.
- BSN degree preferred
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 180 days.
- Perioperative RN Competency Day annually by transcript due date.
