Job Summary
RN Navigator in a Cancer Center serves as patient advocate and guides newly diagnosed cancer patients and families through the oncology care system. The role connects patients with clinical options, community resources, and internal/external services to support timely treatment and survivorship; collaborates with the physician and interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction; performs day-to-day care management interventions; enters and analyzes patient data; assists with accrual to clinical trials, including obtaining informed consent and patient instruction; ensures timely communication of diagnostic results to patients, families, and ordering clinicians; and fosters safe, humane, and caring care delivery. Preferred BSN and oncology nursing experience, with CPR/BLS certification and OCN as options. Mandatory RN licensure in the practice state. Vaccination requirements per hospital policy and E-Verify participation are noted by the employer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- CPR or BLS certification preferred
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred
- Oncology nursing experience preferred
- Experience in healthcare screening or cancer control activities preferred
