Job Summary
RN provides safe, effective, patient-centered care in the Operating Room under the supervision of the Department Director and Charge Nurse. Key duties include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients; collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to meet unit and hospital goals; providing care in alignment with clinical standards and departmental guidelines; and floating to other comparable nursing units as needed. Requires current SC RN license, BCLS, IV therapy competency, and participation in ongoing skills/competencies. Shift: Full-time days with 4-10 hour shifts and on-call. Eligible to assume the Charge Nurse role when needed; opportunity to maintain department-specific certifications and competencies; prior hospital experience and advanced specialty certification preferred. Location: Mount Pleasant, SC.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina
- Current BCLS certification
- Completion of nursing service orientation program
- Attendance at IV Therapy training or demonstration of IV competency within one year
- Annual participation in Skills Fair and completion of all required competencies
- Ability to assume the Charge Nurse role when needed
- Maintains department-specific certifications and competencies
- Previous hospital experience
- Advanced certification in specialty area
- Membership in a professional nursing organization
