Job Summary
Conduct patient care using the nursing process, assess learning needs, and implement teaching strategies for diverse patient and family groups. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources while serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team. Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, ensuring respect for privacy and clear communication of services. Evaluate data to promote change and achieve optimal outcomes, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Perform related duties as assigned, including exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications in a patient care area.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Certification in clinical specialty area
