Job Summary
Provide inpatient mental health nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team. Responsible for initial patient assessment, planning and delivering individualized care plans, administering medications according to the 5 Rights, and maintaining thorough documentation. Ensures patient and staff safety, participates in handoff communications (bedside shift report), delegates tasks appropriately, and supports discharge planning and patient education in alignment with unit standards and institutional nursing competencies. Maintains clinical proficiency, adheres to nursing documentation standards, and collaborates with colleagues to optimize patient outcomes in a Carle Health inpatient setting.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA) within 30 days
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher; College Diploma in Nursing acceptable with required licensure
- Demonstrated ability to perform nursing assessments, develop and implement care plans, document care, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with healthcare team
