Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients on a 30-bed acute care Neuro floor specializing in stroke, spinal injuries, and head trauma. Coordinate patient care activities with assigned staff, including physicians, therapy, and case management, while maintaining standards of practice within organizational policies. Provide continuous inpatient care to patients along the continuum of recovery, supported by a full interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapy and pharmacy. This role is part-time, 7am-7pm, at a primary Stroke center in Athens, GA. New graduates are eligible, with a preference for those with one year of hospital experience. Current Georgia RN licensure and BCLS are required, with ACLS certification needed within 180 days.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- PEARS or PALS Certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS
- PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- OR - BLS required only within 180 Days
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
