Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients on a 30-bed acute care Neuro floor specializing in stroke, spinal, and head injuries. Coordinate patient care activities with assigned staff including physicians, respiratory therapy, and case management while maintaining standards of practice within organizational policies. Provide continuous care to patients along the continuum of recovery under the supervision of a Stroke Coordinator and multidisciplinary team. Shifts run part-time from 7am to 7pm. The unit requires NIHSS-assessment certification and adherence to the Georgia stroke class curriculum.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
- NRP
- PEARS or PALS Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
- Advanced certification in field of specialty
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
- ACLS and PALS Certification
- TNCC and ENPC Certifications
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS; PALS
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program
- NICU
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)
- Nursery
