Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients on a 30-bed acute care Neurology floor specializing in stroke, spinal injuries, and head trauma. Coordinate patient care activities with physicians, therapy teams, and case management while maintaining organizational standards of practice. Provide comprehensive orientation pairing with a qualified preceptor for goal-setting and training. Work part-time days from 7am to 7pm with patient ratios adjusted by volume and acuity. Current Georgia RN licensure and BCLS required; ACLS certification needed within 180 days.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • No experience required
  • New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
  • Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support
  • ACLS Certification
  • CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
  • ACLS and PALS Certification
  • TNCC and ENPC Certifications
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
  • NRP
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program
  • NAT (Newborn Admission Team)
  • Nursery certification
  • PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS
  • PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
  • Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
  • BLS required only

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
  • 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
  • ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
  • CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) preferred
  • PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital
  • PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital
  • NRP by the end of orientation period
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
  • Mother/Baby- NRP by the end of orientation period
  • NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
  • NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
  • PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
  • Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
  • NRP by the end of orientation period
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration
