Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients on a 30-bed acute care Neuro floor specializing in stroke, spinal injuries, and head trauma. Coordinate patient care activities with assigned staff including physicians, respiratory therapy, and the lift team while maintaining standards of practice within organizational policies. Provide comprehensive orientation and training to new hires through a qualified preceptor program. Work includes daily NIHSS assessments and adherence to Georgia stroke class curriculum. This part-time role (7am-7pm) supports a DNV Stroke Certified Neuroscience unit serving the continuum of recovery for patients from birth through the lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- TNCC Certification
- ENPC Certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
- NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
- Advanced certification in field of specialty
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
- Prior to independent chemotherapy administration
