Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for acute and chronic respiratory patients on the expanding Pulmonary Unit. Coordinate patient care activities for all assigned staff while maintaining standards of practice within organizational policies. Provide high-quality nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, working closely with hospitalists, pulmonologists, and respiratory therapists. Full-time days shift from 7am to 7pm. This role offers growth opportunities within an expanding department at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
- ACLS and PALS Certification
- TNCC and ENPC Certifications
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
- NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- PEARS or PALS Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
- Advanced certification in field of specialty
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital
- PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
- Mother/Baby- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- OR - BLS required only within 180 Days
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- TNCC and ENPC Certifications - required at the following hospitals: Piedmont Athens, Piedmont Cartersville, Piedmont Columbus Main Campus, Piedmont Henry, Piedmont Newton, Piedmont Walton
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital
- PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- OR - BLS required only within 180 Days
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
