Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle while maintaining organizational standards of practice. Coordinate patient care activities for all assigned staff to ensure quality delivery. Maintain current Georgia State Licensure or NLC/eNCL Multistate License and BCLS certification. Complete specialty-specific certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP within 180 days of hire depending on unit assignment. This role supports the MedSurg and Ortho units at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital for new graduates or nurses with one year of hospital experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a nursing program
- No experience required
- New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- ACLS and PALS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration
- PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital
- PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- BLS required only
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
- Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 6 months to obtain the PALS certification
