Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle while coordinating activities of assigned staff to maintain quality standards. Provide comprehensive care within the framework of organizational policies and procedures, adhering to patient ratios determined by volume and acuity. Maintain current Georgia State Licensure and BCLS certification, with ACLS required within 180 days for most specialties. Work full-time days from 7am to 7pm at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. New graduates are eligible for this position.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
- ACLS and PALS Certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
- PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital
- PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- BLS required only
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
