Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle while maintaining organizational standards of practice. Coordinate patient care activities for assigned staff and function within established policies and procedures. Ensure current Georgia State Licensure or NLC/eNCL Multistate License and BCLS certification are maintained. Complete specialty-specific certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP within 180 days depending on unit assignment. This role supports the Medsurg, Ortho, and Night shifts at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, serving new graduates and experienced nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a nursing program
- No experience required
- New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
- ACLS and PALS Certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
- PEARS or PALS Certification
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- BLS required only
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP
- Nursery- NRP
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
- Advanced certification in field of specialty
- PALS Certification (for Experienced Emergency Department nurses)
- NRP by the end of orientation period (NICU)
- NRP by the end of orientation period (NAT)
- NRP by the end of orientation period (Nursery)
