Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle while coordinating patient care activities for assigned staff. Maintain standards of practice within the organization's policies and procedures, demonstrating professional growth and accountability. Provide care utilizing the nursing process framework. This role supports the MedSurg unit at Piedmont Columbus Northside. New graduates are eligible, with one year of hospital experience preferred for PRN positions. Current Georgia RN licensure and BCLS certification are required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
- ACLS and PALS Certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification
- PEARS or PALS Certification
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- BLS required only
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program
- Mother/Baby- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
- Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 6 months to obtain the PALS certification
