Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adult patients on a 36-bed Medical-Surgical unit, including orthopedic, cardiac, and bariatric cases. Manage IV starts, wound care, NGTs, chest tubes, and blood transfusions while maintaining RN-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6. Provide comprehensive care for post-op, central line, and colostomy patients, with opportunities to float to assist across the hospital. Full-time night shift with a sign-on bonus available. Current Georgia RN licensure and BCLS required; ACLS certification needed within 180 days.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a nursing program
- No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- ACLS and PALS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration
- PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital
- PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- BLS required only
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
- NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
