Job Summary
As an RN MedSurg Neurology, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in line with department standards and specialty requirements. You will assess the patient’s condition during admission and every scheduled shift, perform procedures or nursing actions as ordered, administer prescribed medications and monitor responses, promptly respond to patient requests, and educate patients, families, and caregivers about diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up measures. You will document care thoroughly in the medical record and collaborate with the care team to ensure positive clinical outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing
- If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position
- Minimum of 1-year experience in acute care hospital within the last three years
- Experience in Neuroscience, is preferred
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
- Current AHA or ARC BLS provider
