Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients on a 30-bed acute care Neuro floor specializing in stroke, spinal, and head injuries. Coordinate patient care activities and maintain standards of practice within organizational policies while supporting a multidisciplinary team including physicians, therapy, and case management. Work part-time shifts from 7am to 7pm with NIHSS-assessment certification required. The unit serves the continuum of recovery for patients from birth through the lifecycle, supported by a comprehensive orientation pairing staff with qualified preceptors.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
  • No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support
  • ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
  • TNCC and ENPC Certifications - required at the following hospitals: Piedmont Athens, Piedmont Cartersville, Piedmont Columbus Main Campus, Piedmont Henry, Piedmont Newton, Piedmont Walton (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certification within 1 year of start date) within 180 Days
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration Upon Hire
  • PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
  • PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
  • PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)OR - BLS required only within 180 Days
  • Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
  • NRP by the end of orientation period
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
  • NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
  • NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
  • Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
  • 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
  • CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) preferred
