Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients on a 30-bed acute care Neuro floor specializing in stroke, spinal, and head injuries. Coordinate patient care activities and maintain standards of practice within organizational policies while supporting a multidisciplinary team including physicians, therapy, and case management. Work part-time shifts from 7am to 7pm with NIHSS-assessment certification required. The unit serves the continuum of recovery for patients from birth through the lifecycle, supported by a comprehensive orientation pairing staff with qualified preceptors.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- TNCC and ENPC Certifications - required at the following hospitals: Piedmont Athens, Piedmont Cartersville, Piedmont Columbus Main Campus, Piedmont Henry, Piedmont Newton, Piedmont Walton (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certification within 1 year of start date) within 180 Days
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration Upon Hire
- PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
- PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU/ARU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)OR - BLS required only within 180 Days
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
- NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) preferred
