Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult and general surgical patients on a 16-bed medical-surgical unit using the nursing process and patient-family-centered principles. Partner with patients and families to develop teaching strategies, document education in health records, and discharge patients according to Corewell Health policies. Provide night shift coverage from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with variable weekend frequency. Requires Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, NCLEX licensure, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification.
Required Qualifications
- Associates in Nursing
- Bachelors in Nursing within 5 years
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
- MI Registered Nurse (RN)
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS)
- CRT-NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale within 90 Days
