Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on the medical stepdown unit. Maintain professional accountability for care delivery, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers, and coordinate patient care with other departments. Uphold patient rights and confidentiality while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Requires current Missouri RN licensure, BLS certification, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs with prolonged standing. Full-time night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for experienced nurses or $10,000 for new graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
