Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nursing care for patients aged 18 and older on a 30-bed medical oncology unit, including administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, performing head-to-toe assessments, starting IVs, inserting NG tubes and foley catheters, and managing Access Mediports. Develop and modify individualized plans of care based on continuous patient evaluation while maintaining rigorous documentation standards for quarterly audits. Provide emotional support to patients and families, ensure patient and employee safety by reporting hazards, and participate in ongoing professional development through departmental mentorship and certification programs.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- College Diploma: Nursing
- RN >1yr
