Job Summary
Prepare the operating room by ensuring instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure. Assist in positioning and preparing patients, maintaining a sterile field throughout procedures while adhering to infection control protocols. Monitor the patient's condition during surgery, document significant changes, and manage specimen collection and transport according to facility protocols. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with policies and standards, participate in patient handoff communication, and assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases. This 13-week travel assignment requires one year of recent OR RN experience and a valid RN license.
Required Qualifications
- Travel OR RN
- One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- OR Nursing Certification (CNOR)
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
