Job Summary
Provide patient care on the medical floor using the nursing process while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care in conjunction with other departments and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers. Uphold patient rights and confidentiality of patient information consistent with Mercy Service Standards. This role requires a current Registered Nurse license in Missouri or compact licensure, with Basic Life Support certification. Experience is preferred, and a BSN is preferred over an ADN or diploma. The position offers a full-time schedule of 36 hours per week on nights (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with a weekend option incentive of $20 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
